As part of its on-going development plans, Hull Trains has increased the number of Hull-based staff from April to August by twenty to thirty-three.
The new recruits include six train drivers, on-board catering crew, train managers who will all be required to run the new fourth service which will be launched with the new winter timetable at the end of September.
The six new train drivers, all with many years’ experience with other operators, will start in September. Previously, train drivers were supplied by Hull Trains’ sister-company Anglia Railways.
In addition to increasing staff numbers, Hull Trains has also contributed significantly to the local economy by employing local printers, marketing agents and PR consultants. It also, where possible, sources all catering products from local suppliers.

ABOUT HULL TRAINS Hull Trains launched in September 2000 and is providing three direct trains per day from Hull to London King’s Cross and return, six days per week, and two direct trains in both directions on Sundays. It is planned to achieve a 2 hourly service, then an hourly service as quickly as possible in the future. Journey time is just over three hours. Hull Trains stop at Brough, Selby, Doncaster, Grantham and London King’s Cross. All trains are equipped with the latest facilities for disabled passengers and provide a smooth and comfortable journey to the capital. Snacks are available on all trains.
